Publishing/Editing Update

The first phase of editing is complete! The editor had this to say:

Thanks for one of the

better manuscripts

I've seen this year, Joan.

What a wonderful response! The manuscript will now be sent to the next level of editing where the focus will be on the layout of the pages, choosing fonts and overall book design. It appears that we are still on track for a launch date of 3/15/2018. Exciting, to say the least!

I also wanted to post some photos from the Meet the Author event in November. I hosted 107 guests! It was a magical evening - the room was filled with close friends and family, friends that I hadn't seen in a very long time, and people that I met for the first time. Our son Greg flew in from Colorado as a surprise - what a special guy he is!

A few highlights from the evening:

  • As the evening was getting underway, I noticed that the bow on my bra was showing and became obsessed with finding someone who had a safety pin. One of my friends told me I looked fabulous and that she thought the bow was lovely, which immediately put my nerves at ease.
  • Several members of my NOW chapter attended, and one of them celebrated her 85th Birthday that evening; the entire room sang Happy Birthday to her.
  • My Aunt Barb held the record for the most guests invited - she had a total of 11 guests!

I was overwhelmed with the outpouring of support given to me personally, and for The Best Girl. Enjoy the photos and once again, thanks to each and every one of you for your continued support and encouragement.
